Random on Random vibration (RoR) testing runs a complex test configuration file that contains two different random signals: a random background signal and a narrowband signal. This hybrid mode method controls the simulation of complex vibration environments in the real world through a combination of broadband random signals and one or more superimposed random narrowband signals. Narrowband signals can be swept or fixed in frequency, covering a basic random energy distribution. Simultaneously execute random vibrations to simulate a service environment where two modes coexist.
In random vibration testing, the function of the basic random control curve is more complex, and all resonant frequencies of any given payload will be excited simultaneously; Therefore, it is highly suitable for fatigue testing and product identification. For example, the repeated stress on truck headlights is caused by the vehicle changing speed when driving on rough terrain.
Tanks or trucks, for example, change speed when traveling on rough roads. For example, the slope of the track will produce rhythmic random vibration peaks at a specific frequency, and the speed of the vehicle is related to this. Figure 1 shows the vibration test curve of a typical tracked vehicle in MIL-STD-810G.
Up to 32 narrowband spectra can be defined, which are superimposed on the background random spectrum and can be scanned between different frequencies at a user programmable rate. This software supports setting independent scanning rates for each random “tone”.
Users can program amplitude, bandwidth, and frequency scanning parameters. Up to 200 individual frequency/amplitude breakpoints can be inputted to meet the requirements of almost any testing specification.
